Luca Champoud is doing his Master Thesis at the University of Fribourg (Department of Biology). His research interests include the conservation biology, distribution and genetics of Calamagrostis stricta (Poaceae), with a specisl focus on newly discovered population in the Swiss Alps.This Master Thesis aims to improve the knowledge gaps by comparing this newly discovered taxon to populations from the Arctic and European countries surrounding the Alps where highly isolated C. stricta populations have been described in the French Jura as well as in southern Germany.
